Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club (DDWSC) Club Co-ordinator
(Self Employed £14 per hour all inclusive)
DDWSC is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SC046015)
This year marked the club’s 5 year anniversary.
With the assistance of SportScotland the club now seeks to appoint a club co-ordinator, working 15 hours per week, to assist with the management and development of the club’s wide range of activities
DDWSC delivers programmes of Wheelchair sport to active wheelchair users and people with a physical disability which may prevent them from participating in able bodied sport.
There has been significant growth in DDWSC activity in recent years in the club’s key sports of Rugby League, Basketball, Tennis, Badminton and Curling.
DDWSC is now further developing its provision as well providing the opportunity to participants in Paralympic Rugby, Archery, Adaptive Winter Sports and Target Shooting.
Reporting to the Chair of DDWSC Committee you will undertake administrative and development tasks in accordance with the club’s Business Plan.
The role requires an ability to work flexibly and the successful applicant will be a self-starter with the ability to manage competing demands.
We especially invite applications from those with experience in sports management, sports development and sports administration.

Lead the administration and development of new and existing DDWSC activities and events which promote the membership of the club.
Work with the management committee to increase participation and competition opportunities in a collaborative and supportive but financially efficient manner.
Support the work of DDWSC committee and the development of the club’s volunteers
Liaison with national governing bodies for sport.

Definition: Active participation in/contribution to establishing internal/external networks which build positive relationships and promote collaborative working which is core to the operation of Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sport Club.
The ability to effectively work with others, and liaise with new and existing external networks, to build positive relationships that support collaborative financially efficient activity.
Initiative and Problem Solving
Definition: Showing desire for continuous improvement in individual and in the work of Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sport Club by actively contributing to problem solving and responding positively to opportunities for development.
The ability to show initiative, creativity and judgement in their work and to liaise with colleagues and club members to identify areas for improvement.
Leadership and Decision Making
Definition: Active contribution to/ leadership of decision making processes within the team of volunteers which ensures objectives are achieved and quality standards are maintained.
The ability to positively contribute to the decision making within the team through leadership to reach an optimal conclusion and to use their judgment to make decisions with limited/ambiguous data, taking into account, multiple factors.
Planning and Organising
Definition: Proactive planning, prioritisation and organisation of work activities and resources to ensure best value is achieved whilst maintaining service availability and quality standards.
The ability to effectively plan activities and resource requirements within an agreed budgetary framework and to co-ordinate with others to avoid conflict and duplication, developing plans to take account of problems, delays and new priorities.
Working in this exciting role, you'll be ensuring that people from all across Tayside have access to active wheelchair sporting opportunities, by driving the club's "All About Ability" mission. You'll work alongside enthusiastic and motivated volunteers, and with some of Scotland's most promising para-athletes.
