Volunteers will carry out general shop duties; this includes front of house tasks such as chatting with customers, operating the till and creating eye-catching displays, and back room activities like sorting donations and steaming clothes.
Shop Volunteers play a vital role in maintaining Sense Scotland's charity shops. Between our 18 shops over £1million is raised each year to support our important work. Volunteer tasks will be allocated by the shop manager/assistant manager and while no two days will be the same, tasks will include serving & assisting customers, helping to sort donations, tagging & hanging clothing, steaming clothing, working the till, arranging & replacing stock, helping to tidy the shop and encouraging customers to sign up to the retail Gift Aid scheme. You will have the opportunity to meet lots of new people and play an active role in your community. A member of staff will be on shift to support you at all times. Time commitment is flexible, although ideally volunteers will be able to make a weekly commitment,
