Are you looking for an opportunity to inspire and encourage more young people to get active? We're looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers in Dundee to help support children to walk, cycle and scoot to school. We're looking for volunteers to help out with a range of cycling and scooting activities, to get more children to travel actively to school. These activities are a lot of fun and can be really rewarding; what could be better than helping children to ride their bike without stabilisers for the first time? The role will be part of I Bike Dundee - a new project promoting cycling, scooting and walking to school, and for everyday journeys in leisure time. It is run by Sustrans in partnership with Dundee City Council. You will help our I Bike Officer and school staff to deliver cycling and scooting-related activities in Dundee schools, such as: learn-to-cycle sessions cycle skills in the playground led cycle rides Bikeability Scotland cycle training
Organisation aims and objectives
Sustrans is the leading sustainable transport charity. We aim to enable people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of their everyday journeys. We work with communities, schools, universities and workplaces across Scotland to encourage healthy and sustainable travel choices. Sustrans Scotland also works with communities and councils throughout the country to create safer and more attractive environments for walking and cycling by building and improving infrastructure. We promote and coordinate over 2,000 miles of National Cycle Network in Scotland, working with our partners to maintain and expand the Network.

Restrictions
Experience required:
We're looking for people who are: passionate about cycling and walking for everyday journeys; enjoy working with children; excellent communication skills; enthusiastic; flexible; reliable and punctual.
Travel details:
This volunteer opportunity will take place in Menzieshill & Broughty Ferry high school and their feeder primary schools. (DD5 1AB)

Travel expenses:
We pay our volunteers previously agreed travel expenses. Sustrans is sustainable and we encourage our volunteers to travel by foot, bike and public transport where possible. We cycle mileage at 20p per mile and car mileage at 38p per mile.
