Admin Volunteer-Project Scotland

This is a Project Scotland vacancy. We have a fantastic employability rate/positive destination figure of 78% (within 6 months of placement). This is because we don’t just do volunteering -we also provide a whole arm of employability support whilst our volunteers are on placement, they get a mentor who is an adult volunteer that spends an hour a week with a young person and helps with things like confidence, goal setting, career planning, CV building, interview skills and they get to attend a series of employability workshops aimed at on improving 16-30year old’s employability. We even provide travel expenses.

Opportunity Description

This role will support the delivery of projects and services by providing administration and reception duties. This will include welcoming service users and attending to their immediate needs before and after their visit and ensuring their privacy and dignity is maintained at all times. The age range of clients may include young people from age 13 to adult.

Our mission is to maximise sexual health in the UK, and minimise the spread of HIV and STIs, by encouraging people to value their sexual health and by leading innovation to increase access to local sexual health services. We want to empower everyone living with HIV in the UK to maximise their health and wellbeing by working to ensure the best possible HIV treatment and support services. We lead public and political support for HIV and sexual health issues, and campaign to eradicate stigma and discrimination

Skills Required

We are looking for someone who is punctual, reliable, with excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills in English. You must also be able to access information quickly and have good IT skills in Microsoft Office applications. You must be willing to develop and maintain your knowledge of HIV and sexual health issues, and be calm and level-headed when speaking to members of the public, whether this is on the telephone or face to face, and be sensitive to their needs. You must be able to deliver services in a non-judgemental and non-discriminatory manner and maintain confidentiality. PVG is required for this role.
