Retail Volunteer-Project Scotland

This is a Project Scotland vacancy. We have a fantastic employability rate/positive destination figure of 78% (within 6 months of placement). This is because we don’t just do volunteering -we also provide a whole arm of employability support whilst our volunteers are on placement, they get a mentor who is an adult volunteer that spends an hour a week with a young person and helps with things like confidence, goal setting, career planning, CV building, interview skills and they get to attend a series of employability workshops aimed at on improving 16-30year old’s employability. We even provide travel expenses.

Opportunity Description



You will be working as part of a team to contribute to the day to day running of the shop and ensure the necessary tasks are carried out in line with standard shop procedures and in doing so contribute to our goal of making as much money as possible to overcome poverty and suffering.

Tasks you will be involved in are:

Sorting and pricing clothing, linen, bric-a brac, books and music
Coding all merchandise
Providing a high level of customer service
Creating window/shop displays
Till Operating
Steaming clothing
General housekeeping and Health & Safety awareness


Skills Required



We are looking for somebody with organisational, customer service, numeracy and literacy skills; someone approachable, who can work as part of a team and who desires to contribute to our goal.
