The recruitment of Modern Apprentices is a fair, open and merit based process (16+) and with permanence from the start of the apprenticeship. These roles offer the opportunity to work in new and developing teams that will be a part of Scotland’s new social security agency’s Finance Unit. One post will be to support the Debt Management Team and one post will support the Counter Fraud Team. This is a very exciting opportunity and would be ideal for someone who has an interest in Finance or Fraud.

This is an important role within the agency which will involve a range of duties to ensure that we provide an excellent service to Scotland’s citizens.
Although individual Administration Assistants are unlikely to be required to carry out all of the duties listed below, you will need to be adaptable and flexible as our systems and structures are established and the service we provide develops and grows. The main duties are:
•Provide administrative support to the Debt Management or Counter Fraud Leads
•Arranging meetings, this also includes ensuring urgent matters are actioned and that relevant papers are ready for use ahead of meetings.
•Manage the travel arrangements for the Debt Management or Counter Fraud Leads. This includes booking travel and accommodation.
•Carry out administrative tasks which may include appointment booking, car hire, hospitality for colleagues.
•Act as a requisitioner for any such orders through the Scottish Government’s electronic ordering and payment system.
•Maintain correct and up-to-date client information.
•Updating and carrying out tasks on the Debt Management and Counter Fraud systems.
•Handle sensitive and personal information in line with confidentiality rules.
•Provide accurate answers and information to client questions with compassion which may be by telephone, face to face, email and online.
Throughout the first 12 months the candidate will be expected to gain a relevant SVQ qualification. Support will be provided by an internal assessor who will work with the successful candidate on a monthly basis. Time will be given to work on your qualification, this includes presenting 2 presentations.
