What our volunteers do
Loneliness and social isolation affect people across the UK of all ages and backgrounds.
Being or feeling alone can have a devastating impact on people’s health and wellbeing, as well as on communities, hospitals and other public services.
Through just a few hours a week, you could provide a huge help for someone experiencing loneliness or social isolation. From having a chat over a cup of tea, to joining them at a local community group, your support could help people towards a brighter and better connected future.
And you could benefit too.
As part of the worlds largest humanitarian organisation you'll have the chance to meet different people, develop your skills and enjoy the company of like-minded staff and volunteers.
